    Hello,
I need some help making a blog and setting up video. We have “blog” section and a section marked “flight to india” which will feature videos as well as pictures of Indian Street Food. I’m sure I will have more questions to come,
    Thanks
    Sarah

    Hello Sarah,

You can set up your blog. Go to the Pages section in your WordPress dashboard and create a new page. Once you have the page published, then go to the Settings section in your dashboard and choose reading. At the top of this screen you selected what your front page displayed. Right next to where you selected your front page, there is a drop down menu for the “posts” page. Choose the page you just created for your blog as the posts page and update your settings.

That will cause all of your published posts to be visible on that page. It’ll be your blog. You can now add it to your navigation menu so your visitors can find it.

To publish a video post, first create a post. Look in the right hand column while you’re editing the new post. You’ll see a box labeled format. Choose video as the format.

Also in the right hand column, there is a box for a video code. This is where you’ll place the embed code from a video service like YouTube or Vimeo. Once you’ve added that, publish your post. That will cause the post to be a “video” post with the video placed just below the header and above the content area of the site.

To have a large image there instead of a video, choose the image format. That will cause the “featured image” of that post to be displayed there. There is spot also in the right hand column where you can add a featured image.

If you have any questions or trouble, let me now.

    Thanks,
    Bill
