    Hello JC,

Thank you for your business and welcome to WordPress. I’d be happy to help you get started. It sounds like you’re planning on using WordPress.com. Unfortunately, WordPress.com does not allow users to bring their own themes and plugins. Our themes and those from other providers are made for self-hosted WordPress sites (sometimes called WordPress.org).

So you’ll want to get hosting from a company like Site Ground or GoDaddy. There are tons of other companies too, but these two do work well.

I’d be happy to help you get things set up and running once you’ve decided on a host if you’d like me to. Just let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill

You’re in good shape then with HostGator. They have an installer that’s built into their control panel that you can use to set up WordPress. There’s an article in their support at http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-install-wordpress that talks about how that works.

Then after WordPress is installed on the server you can set up the site. If you need help with either of those, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill
