I’m able to show an audio track and have it play.
But I can’t figure out a way to place tracks side by side.
In other words, when I add audio tracks, they have to display in one long line, TO THE LEFT of the page.If there’s no way to fix the alignment, what then? Will I need to get a PLAYER?
If so, can I add TWO separate players with different audio to ONE page?In my case, it’s for voice over talent.
We’d like to show all the guys on one side of the page and the women on the other to make it easier for then client to audition and select who they want. Thanks Bill.

Most likely you can do that. If you’ll send me a link to the page you’re working on, I’ll give you instructions on how to do that, or let you know if the plugin doesn’t support it.
Thanks,
BillJune 25, 2012 at 15:45 #6551AudioGirlParticipantI haven’t added audio to the site I was asking about because I need to get that alignment thing figured out. (I wish I could insert a .JPG here so I can show you how the audio was arranged in the old iWeb site).
But here’s a link to the ministry site: http://66.147.244.133/~audiogir/music/
You’ll see how the audio has to be at the left.I’m suing the audio player you suggested: oEmbed HTML5 Audio
Thanks!
June 25, 2012 at 16:00 #6552Bill RobbinsModeratorI understand.
Basically, here’s what you’ll want to do. Before each column, paste this:
and then after each column paste this:
That should create two columns for your files. Let me know if it gives you any trouble.
June 25, 2012 at 16:18 #6554AudioGirlParticipantOkey, dokey. I think I understand. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
June 25, 2012 at 16:22 #6556Bill RobbinsModeratorLori,
I just realized I goofed. At the end of the first column paste this:
and then at the end of the second column paste this:
That should work better.

June 25, 2012 at 16:38 #6557AudioGirlParticipantOkay. Thanks Bill. If it doesn’t work, I’ll be buggin’ ya. 🙂
June 25, 2012 at 17:05 #6558AudioGirlParticipantWell… I’ve tried every possible location and nothing worked.
So I must be placing the:HTML text in the wrong place or something.
Or does the RED “clear” mean something I don’t know? Does it mean I need to insert something to take the place of the red?Below is the EXACT text that shows the audio player for TWO tracks:
Can you copy and paste how it SHOULD LOOK in the EDIT page?
[audio src="https://66.147.244.133/~audiogir/AGP_new/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Sylvia-Aimerito-2009-VO-Demo.mp3" /]

June 25, 2012 at 17:16 #6560Bill RobbinsModeratorLori,
Sorry about that. In order to show the code, go to http://gist.github.com and enter it there. You can then paste the link to it here. Our browsers will try to actually use the code and not just display it here.
Thanks,
BillJune 25, 2012 at 17:20 #6561AudioGirlParticipantWait a second… I need to create an account and log in?
June 25, 2012 at 17:22 #6562AudioGirlParticipantThen what? It will magically shown up in the site page as columned audio?
If not, please follow through on the instructions as if I’m 6-years old.June 25, 2012 at 17:35 #6563AudioGirlParticipantI copied the audio into Gist, placed the html text you gave me after each MP3 track. But didn’t know what to do next so I selected “Create Public Gist.”
It took me to another page that had a highlighted short cut code.
I copied and pasted that code into my Foundation page — and nothing.
I’m guessing here Bill. And I’ve never heard of Gist so that makes it difficult.Btw, you haven’t told me where to PUT the html text you gave me. So I’ve tried putting it directly after the .mp3 (VO-Demo.mp3)
And I’ve tried mp3(space) html text. VO-Demo.mp3
Nothing works. So where do I place the div, etc. text?June 25, 2012 at 17:39 #6564Bill RobbinsModeratorI don’t think you need an account. You had attempted to paste some code here. I was just trying to let you know how to go about that so it would work.
Let’s just skip what’s above. There is a plugin called WP Easy Colmuns that will let you add columns using a shortcode.
Install and activate the plugin. The paste this before the first column’s content:
Paste this after the first column’s content:
Then before the second columns content paste this:
and lastly after the second column paste this:
According to the plugin, that will create two columns of equal width for you to use.
June 25, 2012 at 17:48 #6565Bill RobbinsModeratorLori,
The gist is just so you can paste code here in the forum so I can see it.
The code snippets above, either the shortcode or the HTML is to go in your page or post where ever you’d like to have columns. Put the before HTML/shortcode before the start of the first column. Put the after HTML/shorcode after the end of the first column. Then put the before HTML/shortcode for the second column before the second column and the after, after you content.
All together it would look something like this with the HTML:
June 25, 2012 at 18:03 #6566AudioGirlParticipantBoy, I was way off track with that Gist thing.
But now I’m extra confuddled.
Which instructions are you suggesting?
WP Easy Columns or what you entered above?
They appear to be two different sets of code — therefore two different sets of instructions. One starts with:[wpcol — etc.
The other with the
June 25, 2012 at 18:42 #6567Bill RobbinsModeratorI promise I’m not trying to confuse you. You can use either method.
For simplicity’s sake, let’s just use the last one I posted that had the whole thing in it.
Give that a try.
