404 errors

Help!
For the past 6 months I’ve had 404 errors on all pages except my home page. I’ve asked everyone, read every forum and I just don’t understand the lingo…I need someone to help me get my pages back or should I just start over?Thank you so much!
About 90% of the time 404 errors on inside pages are related to permalink errors. Go to settings in your WordPress dashboard and click on permalinks. Choose plain or default if you don’t see plain as an option and save your settings. Wait for the page to refresh, then save them one more time.
Then check your inside pages and see if they work. If they do, you can try switching me to the post name option and then test again. If they don’t work with post name, then go back to what you had. Not every web server supports the post name option.
