Question: I am using mini-loops to present articles in a list on my front page. Everything seems to work fine, but sometimes the links do not go to the pages correctly. And, I get a Page Not Found Error message. I think this seems to be for the longer url references for posts. It appears to be the case across browser types including IPad. Everything seems to be ok in the post entry and permalink reference.

Are their limits to how long a permalink should be? Perhaps this a mini-loop issue? But, I can’t think why they would truncate a url reference. What would best practices suggest I do? Just a little perplexed as longer permalinks work well.

    Hey Rick,

That’s a bit unusual. Often times you can clear up permalink errors by going to Settings > Permalinks and then saving them. Wait for the page to refresh and then save them again.

That will clear out the permalink cache and very often fixes errors with them. You don’t have to change anything, just try saving them again like that and see if that won’t do the trick.

Let me know if that doesn’t fix things,

One of the things I did was to change the WWIII-cache settings so they were quicker in various places by enabling several additional caches. This seems to help big time in that things are quicker and links working much better, although sometimes I get one malfunction. I also tried your advice, but had done the cache thing first, so I am not sure if it helped. Certainly did not hurt.

Will let you know if that changes.

    Thanks,
    Rick
