No data showing in Webmaster Tools

Hi (again!)

Having a few issues getting my Webmaster Tools account to recognise any data (seems fine in Analytics) I’ve inserted the tracking code into the SEO section on the theme options – assume this must be the “Head” section or Analytics wouldn’t be showing any data either. Everytime I try to verify the account in Webmaster Tools it tells me that the tracking code is not located in the right section.
Anything that you can help with or should I go to Google..?

Tom,

Great question. Here’s what I would do that should take care of it for you.

1. Go to the appearance section and select edit to open up the theme editor.
2. From the list of files on your right, choose header.php.
3. Right above where you see this:

   
   </head>
   

   paste in your Webmaster tools code.

4. Save your changes.

Google should then be able to see it. If you have any trouble, let me know
