MaxButtons Issue?

Hi –

I wonder if the theme could be involved in this problem? The button was working fine prior to updating the MaxButton Plugin. I’m wondering how shortcodes work and if the theme could play a part in this issue?

Hi Peter,

It looks like the topic above is behind their support paywall, so I can’t speak to whether the issue is similar or not since I’m unable to view the topic. If you want to copy out the pertinent portions of the discussion and share them, I’ll see if it’s related.

If they have a way to let you use the previous version, you could always do that until they make a patch. Plugins from WordPress.org have a repository of previous versions which can be handy when issues like this crop up.

Yesterday I updated our plugin and an existing is not working.

– select the donate button. That button should resolve to https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=assocmin&id=7

I have validated everything looks good in the configuration and wonder what is going on with this button?

When I copy the link in your button, I find that it is encoded: https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name%3Dassocmin%26id%3D7 rather than https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=assocmin&id=7. Check the URL you entered for the button to insure it is not in the encoded.

Peter,

Thanks. Here are a few things to think about.

Have you tried using the donate button outside of the tabs button since the update?

Are you able to edit the button with the correct URL and have it appear?

Are you using the visual or the text editor? The visual editor can cause problems with HTML strings. Switching back and forth can also cause trouble with code added to a page.

The theme itself doesn’t manipulate the content inside of a page so I don’t believe that’s the source of the trouble here. I’m not sure what it is, but work through those questions. That’s where I would start.

This turned out to be a problem with new code in the MaxButton plugin. I’m waiting a fix. Thanks, PR
