    Hi Bill,

I am creating home page for Kenny’s catering website. I want to create a sidebar under featured image at the home page. I want to put some widgets in there (client testimonials, links to pages on the site, contact us form and social media page). Wondering if there is a way to create that. Wondering if there is an easy way to get that done.

    Good Morning Atit,

Great question. What I would do is this. Edit your page and look in the right hand column for the templates drop down menu. Choose the home page template there.

That will use the home page that the demo does. It has a widget area already built into it. You can add widgets to it by going to Appearance > Widgets in your admin and adding the widgets you need to the home sidebar. That’s one option.

There’s also a plugin called Widgetize Pages (https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgetize-pages-light/) that will let you create sidebars and add them to the content area of a page. That’s another option for you to look at.

Hope one of those will do the trick for you. Let me know if I can help out.

    Have a great day,
    Bill
