    I would like to utilize the staff portion of my Forward theme website to display something else. Everywhere that the word Staff is used I’d like to replace it with the words Stations. I have seen a few topics related to this.
    Here: https://support.organizedthemes.com/forums/topic/changing-staff-url/
    and here:
    https://support.organizedthemes.com/forums/topic/remove-staff-links/

    Are these the only steps I need to follow?
    I have attached a jpeg example of what I am hoping to create

    Thanks!
    I am loving working with your theme! Such a great experience:)

    Hi Cassandra,

    Great question. In Forward you can change the staff and staff group slugs if you’d like to. Go to the customizer and click on the advanced section. You’ll see a spot for URL slugs there. Click on it and you can enter new url slugs for both the individual staff and staff groups there. The slugs are the endings of the URLs. After the slugs are changed, you’ll want to go to Settings and click on Permalinks. Scroll to the bottom and click on Save. That will clear out the permalink cache and make sure the new URLs work and don’t send your visitors to a not found page.

    To change the page titles, I would suggest using a SEO plugin like Yoast SEO (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/). It has a section for titles of custom post types like the staff section. That will let you change the staff and staff groups there.

    I believe that should cover the spots on the front end where your visitors see staff. You can change the name of the page to whatever you’d like it to be by clicking on the title when editing the page.

    If you have any questions, let me know.

    Take care,
    Bill

    One more question. Is it possible to allow HTML in the descriptions portion of the staff pages? From my research, it looks like those areas are coming from the the_excerpt() and my html table is only showing up as text. I’d love if the full staff page could display the description as the individual pages display the table.

    Maybe Im going about this wrong…
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Cassandra,

    You can swap out the excerpt for the full content with a small edit. Here’s what to do.

    1. Go to the Appearance section in your WordPress dashboard and click on Edit.
    2. From the list of files on your right, choose staff-group-item.php
    3. Locate this line:

      <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

      and change it to:

      <?php the_content(); ?>

    4. Save your changes.

    That should swap out the excerpt for the full content in your staff listings.

    Have a great day,
    Bill
